Attention Shoppers!!!!

Did anyone end up coming home with an extra tank top? I seem to have lost the aqua blue, ribbed tank that I bought from Old Navy. I even wore it when we went out for pizza! I have no idea how that happens. Just thought I'd check if it ended up in someone else's bag? Thanks! Jill

White Chili

Linda,
This is the one I was telling you about.

White Chili:
1 Tbls vegetable oil
1 cup chopped onions
2 cloves garlic
3 cups chicken broth
2 Tbls chopped fresh cilantro
2 Tbls lime juice
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
1/4 tsp red pepper sauce (I use more)
1/4 tsp salt
1 (11 oz) can white shoepeg or whole kernel corn
1 (15 oz) can butter beans - drained
1 (15 oz) can great northern beans - drained
2 cups chopped cooked chicken breast

Heat oil in 4 qt Dutch oven. Cook onions and garlic in oil, stirring occasionally, until onions are tender.

Stir in remaining ingredients except chicken. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 20 min. Stire in chicken; simmer until hot.

CHRISTMAS

Well, it's changing again..looks like it will be on Christmas day at Sam and Raneyl's. Elizabeth and Andrew's house won't be done and I don't have much room here. So Raneyl and I changed years.
I'll have it next year, hopefully in my new house. -Carol

Hi all,

Are any of you interested in helping with the Moren family Christmas quilt this year? It's time to get started. My computer is a piece of junk, so I am sending this from work so I better make it short. The quilt will have 30 12 inch blocks - that's 3.75 blocks each for 8 sewers or 3.33 for 9 sewers. The colors are black & brown. We are doing a crazy log cabin.

Let me know asap.

Speaking of Babies......

As long as there is all this excitement about babies we thought we would let you all know that we are expecting a little one too. This has come with much waiting however it seems that everything is going fine and I will be 13 weeks along tomorrow. Prayers are still welcomed and appreciated that everything continues to go smoothly for us. Thank you!!! Kevin, Maggie, and Mitchell

Christmas

Hi y'all! It's my turn to have Christmas this year, and since I really don't have much of a place to
have it, I've asked Elizabeth to host it for me. The tentative plan is to have dinner at her house on Christmas day. Feel free to email me with questions or comments. If anything changes, I'll let you know.

Fishing with Daddy

I took this cool picture of Chad and Eliott fishing off the dock over the 4th of July weekend. This has become Eli's favorite thing to do at the cabin. This past weekend he was up at 7:30 a.m., pulled daddy out of bed, and was on the dock fishing, in his jammies and rainboots, by 7:45a.m.!

The boys

Eliott and I went to visit Oliver and Liz at their new house yesterday. The weather was beautiful, so Liz and Oliver treated us to a little picnic lunch outside. The boys looked so cute! When the two of them get together, though....it could be trouble!

From the mouth of Mitchell......

I haven't been able to post pictures in a while since Kevin decided to google "party dot" and loaded my computer with a severe case of viruses so I thought I would share a funny Mitchell story. Today I decided try my luck one more time and take a nap with Mitchell. The last time we tried this I fell asleep and woke up to Mitchell locking me in his room. I caught him just before he had the lock locked all the way. So today, we are laying on Mitchell's bed both of us just about sleeping and Mitchell says, "Mama, I like it girls." I half sleeping responded with yes honey I know. He followed it with a little giggle and drifted off to sleep.

Gabe's First Birthday

He did not really like his cake. I could have left his cloths on. I have seen squash get more messy than this.

Who said glasses were a good thing?

Last Wednesday Mitchell got glasses. Kevin and I had many questions about it but we agreed to listen to the specialist and get him glasses--after all they know. My main concern would be that he was going to brake them quite frequently. You know step on them, lose them, destroy them, bend them, run over them with his toys, or anything else that he could possibly do to brake them. I was right. He had them 3 1/2 hours and he broke them the first time--we weren't even home from town with them. Today I picked him up from daycare and he was running around without them. I right away guessed it--yep they were broke again. What he is doing isn't the normal braking them or bending them like one would think. He is bighting the nose pieces off. Yep. Both times he bit the nose pieces off. So for now we think to ourselves thank God that kids glasses packages come with a warantee and nose pieces are covered under that and gas is not $4.00 a gallon as we head out to another trip to get them fixed....Maggie

Hi From Gabe

It has been a while since I have posted. Here is a shot of Gabe playing with the football he got for Christmas from his uncle Clint. Another of him watching Mom cook from his bumbo (which he is too big for now) and finally one in an outfit I just love. The little blue PJ bag.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love, Eliott

Hi Everybody,
Here are a few pictures of our not so exciting life. I always forget the pictures load backwards so you might want to start at the bottom and work your way to the top.
Maggie
Poor scoop--he's put in a hard days work.
Mitchell spends lots of time with Kevin in the shop. Today Kevin was pressure washing stuff and Mitchell found the water puddle and decided to play in it. By the time it was time to call it a night he was soaked from head to toe. Oh, and by the way grease stains blond hair so he looks a little bit like a leapard.
Here is Mitchell in his big boy bed. The morning after the dance he figured out how to climb out of his crib so we said fairwell to his crib and bought him a twin bed. He now has the most comfortable room and bed in the house.
A couple of weeks ago Mom and Dad's church had "Country Night." It was dinner and dancing after 4:00 mass. Mom made all of the kids a little vest and they wore Grandpa's hankies for bandanas (don't worry they were all new or clean).

Our winter so far....

It has been a while since I posted so I thought I would make up for lost time. Here is a bit of our life for the past month or so. We have had a lot going on and the pictures aren't really in order but you should be able to figure them out. We hope to see you all soon. Maggie, Kevin, and Mitchell Here is a picture I took out my windshield coming through Virginia, MN on our way home from Ely on December 28. There is a mine up there but I always like the big trucks.
Here is the cake I baked for Mitchell's birthday and Kevin decorated.
Here is the three of us on Sunday. We had Mitchell's Birthday party at Mom and Dad's.

Isaiah being cute.

Grandma, Grandpa, and the four grandkids with a Birthday Cake for Jesus. There is a candle in it from each kid.

Grandpa and his boys. Need I say more?!?!?!

Here is Mitchell checking out Baby Jesus in the Nativity Set at Mom and Dad's.

I took Haley to build a Gingerbread House thru Milaca Community Ed for her birthday present. Here is Haley and the almost finished project. She wasn't sure what a gingerbread house was when we set out on our adventure but by the end of the night she knew.
