John's knee update

We just got back from the Orthopedist in Brainerd, Dr. Robertson. He gave John's knee a shot of cortisone. He said it should take affect by the week-end & should be good for about 2 months. Obviously, that is a temporary fix.

He has a tear in his meniscus (the cartilage around the knee). He could have arthroscopic surgery to have it removed but the doctor feels that it might not help because the primary problem is arthritis. The MRI showed the cartilage is worn down more on one side than the other. A special knee brace to push his knee joint over to the side with thicker cartilage may help. So, he has some options. We will play it by ear but he will probably end up having a replacement. He will see the doctor again in one month.

I already saw a typo; the MRI "showed" (not should).

Hopper, first of all, we're praying for John. It probably feels good and bad to have options..nice to know there are multiple answers, but which do you choose? Hmm, God knows.
Second: it's very easy to go back in and edit a post if you are frustrated with a typo (that no one would notice but you by the way:). All you have to do is log in like you always do, but go to "manage posts" instead of "new post". There you can click on "edit" and change whatever you want! I use this feature often...

P.S. He is feeling a lot better today. He is even doing some of his chores.(Like loading the furnace).
